Bamboo House
The Bamboo house in Boone, NC was a large five-bedroom house that we turned into a lovely vacation Airbnb.
One of the major issues addressed was the foundation. It was in such rough shape that a portion of it had separated from an exterior wall, allowing a “porthole” to the outside!
It did have original floors and vintage wood paneling, though, each of which I was able to retain a portion of. I chose a perky teal-y green for the exterior and repeated a variation of the color with the bathroom vanities.
Probably the biggest transformation for this house was the scary and oddly shaped kitchen. In the end, it went from a lair occupied by “Jason” of Friday the 13th fame, to a bright and welcoming space.
